Learning Outcomes
At the end of his program, students will be able to:
- Explain the fundamental roles and responsibilities of Caregiver Support Workers.
- Describe the functions of relevant health care systems
- Explain common client conditions and support needs.
- Describe various legal/ ethical issues that a support workers/ caregivers must consider when working with clients and organizations.
- Describe the importance of the client’s strengths needs, rights, preferences, and expectations, and their willingness and ability to participate in their care.
- Explain the principles of ethical person-centred care related to assisting with activities of daily living skills
- Outline common issues and challenges in the workplace for caregivers.
